GigsBoard Team Engagement Models

External, Internal, or Hybrid teams supported by GigsBoard

Use cases & related Engagement models

Team types and their 'best-fit' Use cases

GigsBoard enables performance of work by the following User types. The corresponding Use cases are also specified alongside:

The first 3 Engagement models shall be deployed on a fully-Contracted basis, whereas the In-house Job shall be deployed on a direct engagement basis without the need for contracting. The Hybrid team model would require contracting for the External team members only.

Freelanced Project
Independent Freelancer executing a 'Small' job

An independent contributor (Freelancer or independent Project Manager) can bid on a ‘Small Job’ on GigsBoard, and then execute it on GigsBoard on a Peer-to-peer Freelancing model.

Note: When a Business Customer tags a Job as a ‘Small’ Job, then the basis of sizing shall be ‘Days’, indicating that the overall duration of the Job is likely to be relatively shorter.

In this engagement model, the quantum of planning needed is lesser, and hence many of the detailed planning activities are automatically bypassed in the GigsBoard workflow.

User Journey - Freelanced Small Job
Outsourced Project
IT Consulting Firm/ Agency executing a 'Large' job

Consulting Firms/ Agencies can bid for, contract, and execute such ‘Large’ Jobs on GigsBoard. This model maps to the typical ‘Outsourcing’ Business model.

Note: When a Business Job is tagged as a ‘Large’ Job, then the basis of sizing shall be ‘Weeks’, indicating that the duration of the Job is relatively longer.

Crowdsourced Project
Virtual team of IT Freelancers executing a 'Large' job

A Virtual team of Freelancers – led by an Independent Project Manager – can bid for, contract, and execute ‘Large’ Jobs on GigsBoard.

This model can also be extended to Agencies/ Consulting firms whose Consultant team is augmented with Freelancers.

The aim is to enable complete scalability of the Team engagement models.

Note: When a Business Job is tagged as a ‘Large’ Job, then the basis of sizing shall be ‘Weeks’, indicating that the duration of the Job is relatively longer.

User Journey - Outsourced or Crowdsourced Job
In-house Remote Team
Business Internal teams executing internal projects remotely

When a Business has its’ own internal team to execute a certain Job, the Business can use the ‘In-House Work’ model to leverage just the Project Management function of GigsBoard.

Using GigsBoard in the ‘In-house work’ model would give the Business more transparency, dynamic control & effectiveness than if traditional project management tools were used to manage the project.

User Journey - In-house work
Hybrid Team (Under Construction)
In-House team, augmented by External team members as needed

When an In-house team does not have some of the requisite skills needed for a Project, then the team can be augmented by selected External/ 3rd Party team members (Agency or Freelancers) who can be inducted into the Team for the duration of the specific Project.

The Internal team would be able to access Tasks & Deliverables across the entire scope of the project, but the External team members would be able to access only the specific Tasks and Deliverables that are assigned to them, ensuring that confidentiality is ensured.

This model would be especially suited for Projects with parts of the scope having significant IP (Intellectual Property) implications. IP-impacting components can be assigned to In-house team members, and the non-IP work can be assigned to External team members, assuring IP control.
